Heat Pumps

WARM AIR IN THE WINTER AND COOL AIR IN THE SUMMER
Heat pumps really do offer a cost effective solution for all year round comfort. No need to have two separate systems, the same units can either heat or cool the air depending on the season. If you are considering installing air conditioning then for a small extra cost you can have a heat pump as well.
The running costs per kilowatt of heating for heat pumps is substantially lower than for conventional electric heating. These highly efficient units could soon pay for themselves.

Heat pumps supply more energy than they consume, by extracting heat from their surroundings. Currently heat pump systems can supply as much as 3kW of heat output for just 1kW of energy consumed.

Heat pumps can actually supply more energy than is used to drive them, which enables you to save on electricity. So why not replace your current, element, style electric heating with a heat pump, save on running costs and have summer cooling as well?

Basically, a heat pump is an air conditioning system in reverse. Heat pumps have a special valve, which enables the external and internal units to swap functions, so instead of the inside unit providing cold air,  it can also provide warm air for the winter. Heating your home by this method is extremely efficient and costs considerably less to run than conventional electric heating. You also have the additional benefit of cooling for the summer months.

Please note: There are air conditioning units with integral, strip element, heaters enabling them to provide warm air in winter. These are NOT heat pumps and can not offer the same economy of use.

The Cool Man is always pleased to offer advice and guidance on the best type of system for your particular needs.
